Terms of Service

The agreement for using Layoff Lift: the search, the writing, and the people you decide to contact.

Last updated: November 8, 2026

Overview

Layoff Lift ("we," "us," or "our") helps you find roles the big boards do not list, keep every application in one place, write for the job in front of you, and see who can say yes. These terms govern your use of the website, the product, and the plans we sell.

By creating an account, choosing a plan, or using the site, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If they do not work for you, do not use Layoff Lift. You can close the account and stop at any time.

Account

The board can be browsed with limited access. The Hiring Web in full, smart alerts, the tracker, tailored resumes, letters, and hiring intelligence need an account on the plan that includes them.

You sign in with the email and password you choose. Keep that password to yourself. You are responsible for activity under the account, including a session you left open. Give us accurate information when you join, and update it when it changes. One person uses one account. Do not share a login so someone else can use a paid plan.

You may close the account at any time by writing to us. We will delete or anonymize personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. Records we must keep for tax, fraud, or a payment dispute can stay for that purpose.

Acceptable Use

Use Layoff Lift lawfully and for your own search. Please do not:

  • Break the law, or help someone else break it, through the product
  • Scrape, crawl, or automate access to roles, alerts, or hiring intelligence
  • Probe, bypass, or interfere with sign-in, billing, or another account
  • Resell, republish, or build a competing dataset from our listings or tools
  • Upload a resume, a letter, or notes you do not have the right to use
  • Harass, spam, or mislead the people hiring intelligence names
  • Pretend we applied, wrote, or messaged an employer on your behalf
  • Use the product to harm another person, or to disrupt the service

Hiring intelligence is a map, not a license to flood someone's inbox. You contact people yourself, on LinkedIn or wherever they actually are, and you do it as yourself. We may suspend or end access when these terms are broken, or when we need to protect the product or the people using it.

Plans & Payments

Lift is the search: The Hiring Web, smart alerts, and the application tracker. Comeback is the hire: everything in Lift, plus a tailored resume, a letter for that role, and hiring intelligence. Prices, what each plan includes, and whether you are paying monthly or for the year are shown on the pricing page and again at checkout. By purchasing, you agree to pay the fees for the plan you select.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. A monthly plan renews each month until you cancel. A yearly plan is one charge for twelve months, then renews for another year until you cancel. There is no separate setup fee hiding past checkout.

You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops the next charge. Access continues through the period you have already paid. The month or year already billed covers that period.

If a charge is wrong, or the product fails you in a way we can put right, write to us. We would rather solve it than make you argue with a receipt. Where the law where you live requires a refund or a cooling-off period, that law still applies. The refunds page states how a request is handled.

Your Content

You keep ownership of what you put in: profile details, saved roles, tracker notes, alert rules, resume material, and letters. We do not claim that work as ours, and we do not hand it to employers, recruiters, or anyone who wants it for their own outreach. You apply. You write. You send.

To run the product, you grant us a license to host, store, display back to you, and process that content for the features you use, and to maintain and improve those features. The license ends when you delete the content or close the account, except for copies we must keep for the reasons in the Privacy Policy, and except for what we have already aggregated so it no longer identifies you.

On Comeback, a tailored resume and a letter are drafted with third-party AI services. The role and the background you supply may be sent so the draft can be written. Those providers handle that content under their own terms. A draft is a draft. Read it, change it, and send it only when it is yours. See the Privacy Policy for how that processing works.

Our Content & IP

The site, the Layoff Lift name and mark, the software, and the way we organize a search are owned by us or our licensors. Do not copy, modify, or distribute that material without permission.

Roles on The Hiring Web are collected from the companies that are hiring. We do not own those openings, and a listing is not an offer of employment from us. Our work is to find them, check them, and put them where you can act. Hiring intelligence arranges professional information that is already public, so you can decide whom to contact. The people and the companies keep their own names and profiles. LinkedIn and other sites we link to are not operated by us. Their terms apply once you leave.

Termination

You may stop using Layoff Lift at any time. Cancel the plan if one is active, and ask us to close the account when you want the data gone.

We may suspend or end access if these terms are not followed, if a payment fails and stays failed, or if we need to protect the platform, our users, or the integrity of the listings. When access ends, your right to use the paid features ends. We may retain certain data as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that should survive — ownership of content, the license limits, disclaimers, and these closing rules — stay in effect.

Disclaimers

We check roles before they reach The Hiring Web, and we still cannot promise that every listing stays open, accurate, or available. Companies change requirements, fill seats, and take pages down. Hiring decisions belong to employers, not to us. Layoff Lift does not guarantee an interview, a reply, or a job.

Alerts can be early and still miss a role. Tracker stages are only as current as what you record. AI drafts can be wrong, generic, or out of date; you are responsible for what you submit. Hiring intelligence can be incomplete or behind the org chart. Confirm a name before you write.

The service is provided as available. We will work to keep it up, and we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you or an employer make from what the product shows you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Changes

We may update these terms. The new version is posted on this page, and the date above moves with it. If a change materially affects your plan, your content, or what you are allowed to do, we will also say so by email or in the product. Continuing to use Layoff Lift after the update means you accept the revised terms. If the new terms do not work for you, cancel and stop.
